Miley Ray Cyrus was born Destiny Hope Cyrus on November 23, 1992 in Franklin, Tennessee and raised in Thompson's Station, Tennessee to Tish Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus. There are five siblings in her family: 2 half brothers a half-sister, as well as one younger brother and sister. The name she was given by her parents as they wanted to see her be successful. Miley was shortened from Smiley as a young girl and was rewarded because of her cheerful nature. Ron Cyrus is her Democratic politician father. Cyrus began her education in Heritage Elementary School in Tennessee. At the age of eight, Cyrus and her family relocated from Tennessee to Toronto in Canada which is where Billy Ray, Cyrus's father played the role of Doc (2001) in TV. Cyrus began acting during the same time. The first time she acted was alongside her father on the set of Doc (2001). Her first appearance was as her father in Doc (2001). Cyrus appeared in Hannah Montana (2006) (a Disney show that follows a teenager woman with a dual life as a singer) as the main character. Her father also appeared alongside her. Following the success of the show, there were hit records, sold-out tour dates and deals for merchandise. Cyrus rose to fame as an early teen. After the huge success of Hannah Montana (2006), Cyrus began to move into other roles - including playing Ronnie Miller in The Last Song (2010) as well as Lola on LOL (2012) along with Demi Moore.
